Wild re-sign D Folin to two-year deal

The Minnesota Wild on Saturday re-signed defenseman Christian Folin to a two-year contract. The team initially announced the deal on its official Twitter page.

Folin, a 24-year-old native of Gothenburg, Sweden, played in 40 games for Minnesota last season. Folin recorded two goals and eight assists, all told.

The defenseman owns 11 points, 13 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating in 41 NHL games over the past two seasons. Folin totaled 41 points and 55 penalty minutes in 79 games during two collegiate seasons with UMass-Lowell (2012-14).
