Wild reassign defenseman Ryan Murphy to Iowa

After a 3-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon, the Minnesota Wild reassigned defenseman Ryan Murphy to Iowa.

The move will open up a spot for fellow defenseman Jared Spurgeon, who has missed the last nine games with a groin strain.

Murphy played well for the Wild in his nine-game stint in Minnesota, tallying two points, a plus-5 rating, 12 shots on goal and 11 blocked shots.
