The Minnesota Wild recalled defenseman Carson Soucy from the AHL on Monday morning.

The rookie was sent down Friday after spending three games with Minnesota. Soucy made his NHL debut on April 2, helping the Wild to a win over the Edmonton Oilers. The Wild kick off their first-round playoff series with the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Soucy spent four seasons at Minnesota Duluth, and was on hand for the Frozen Four in St. Paul over the weekend. He joined UMD in the locker room after the Bulldogs held on for a 2-1 win over Notre Dame in the national championship game.

Soucy was an alternate captain last year in his final season with UMD, registering 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 35 games and helping the Bulldogs to the national championship game.
