Wild's Parise to miss games, injury not expected to be long-term

Published Nov. 6, 2015 2:20 p.m. ET

Wild coach Mike Yeo says that forward Zach Parise will be out for at least a "couple games" due to a lower body injury, but does not believe that his injury is a long-term one.

"What I would say is that we can rule him out for the next couple games, and don’t have much idea going forward after that," Yeo said. "I can say it’s not going to be something that’s month-to-month. I shouldn’t guarantee that, but that’s the word that I’ve got so far."

Parise left Minnesota's 3-2 loss to Nashville less than two minutes into the game after falling awkwardly into the boards following a hit from behind by Predators forward James Neal.

The Minnesota-born winger re-entered the game a few shifts later, before exiting for good during the closing moments of the first period.

The injury is the latest in a recent rash of injuries for the Wild, as the team announced earlier this week that forwards Justin Fontaine and Tyler Graovac are expected to be sidelined for the next six weeks.
