Wolves' Jones teased for NBA Live 16 avatar
Let's hope Tyus Jones has a good sense of humor.
The Minnesota Timberwolves rookie and Apple Valley native got some good-natured ribbing on social media on Friday, after gamers caught wind of what the point guard's avatar looks like on the NBA Live 16 video game, available on Sept. 29 on consoles such as Xbox One and PS4.
Because -- and we can't hammer this point home enough -- the avatar, shown in a demo of the game this week, looks nothing like the flesh-and-blood version of the point guard Minnesotans know and love.
The NBA Live 16 version of Jones not only doesn't resemble Jones in the slightest, but it also appears as if someone woke him up from a day-long slumber.
Among those who got in on teasing Jones were fellow NBA rookie-to-be Sam Dekker, whom Jones' Duke squad beat in the NCAA national title game last spring, when Dekker was with the Wisconsin Badgers.
Jones replied to Dekker's tweet below with an "oh boy," preceded by several sad-faced emoticons.
The good news: Jones, at just 19 years old, has several years left in his pro playing career, so perhaps NBA Live 17 and subsequent video games will offer him a more appropriate avatar.
Wait, @Tyusjones06 this isn't real right? https://t.co/4Lvf9ItFS4
