KUUSAMO, Finland (AP) Strong winds forced the cancellation of the ski jumping World Cup at the Ruka ski center in northeast Finland on Saturday.

There were no jumps on Friday either, because of winds of up to eight meters per second.

The scheduled first day of a Nordic Combined on Saturday, was also cancelled.

''The wind was simply too strong,'' race director Lasse Ottesen said.
