Young Wild Tracker: Alex Tuch dazzles for Iowa Wild
With signees and draft picks spread out across two continents and more than a dozen junior leagues, keeping up with the Minnesota Wild's various prospects can be a daunting task.
From managing streaming plans and tracking down cable channels, to learning a few new languages (Puhutko suomea?), keeping tabs on the next generation can be a full-time job.
FOX Sports North has you covered.
From Finland to Fargo, we're breaking down the stats and bringing you a comprehensive look at the Wild's prospect pipeline each and every week.
So, let's take a look at the week that was in the latest edition of the Young Wild Tracker.
FIRST STAR
Alex Tuch, RW, Iowa Wild (AHL)
Tuch had his best game of the season for the Iowa Wild, scoring two goals Friday in a 3-2 win over the Chicago Wolves. The Boston College alum scored this unassisted beauty on a breakaway in the first period after robbing a Wolves defenseman at the blue line, and potted the game-winner midway through the second period.
SECOND STAR
Kirill Kaprizov, LW, Salavat Yulaev (KHL)
Kaprizov makes the list for the second week in a row after extending his point streak to nine games. He picked up an assist in Salavat Yulaev's 4-3 overtime win over Spartak, and assisting on Linus Omark's power play goal in a 4-3 shootout loss to HC Sochi. Kaprizov hasn't been held off the scoresheet since Oct. 21, and has four goals and eight assists over that span.
THIRD STAR
Luke Kunin, C, Wisconsin Badgers (NCAA)
The Badgers will need even more out of their young captain with freshman Trent Frederic sidelined, and he delivered on Friday, scoring just 21 seconds into 3-2 win over Merrimack. Kunin leads the Badgers in scoring with six goals, and is tied for second with 10 points.
