A 100-year-old super fan was so determined to see her beloved Besiktas' new stadium that she asked to be taken round on her hospital bed.

Meryem Ruacan, who has been a loyal fan of the Turkish club for most her life, was worried that she wouldn't be able to see the club's newly-built stadium after falling ill just after her 100th birthday.

However, Besiktas organized for her to leave hospital and take a VIP tour of the Black Eagles new home on her gurney.

The old Inonu Stadium, which was opened when Meryem was around 30, had a capacity of 32,086 and was demolished to make way for the new 43,500 seater bowl-shaped Vodafone Arena.

And, in case you were after a detailed look, here's the stadium in all its glory as it nears completion:

Impressive! You can see why Meryem was so desperate to take a look around.
