AC Milan ends 3-year European absence with trip to Romania

NYON, Switzerland (AP) AC Milan will end a three-year absence from UEFA competitions playing in Romania against CSU Craiova in the Europa League third qualifying round.

Milan was drawn away for the first leg on July 27. The return match at San Siro is on Aug. 3.

A seven-time European champion, Milan has never won the Europa League or its predecessor the UEFA Cup.

Milan placed sixth in Serie A last season to earn its first European game since March 2014, when it was eliminated by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.

Also, it is: Everton vs. Ruzomberok or Brann; PSV Eindhoven or Osijek or Lucerne; Zenit St. Petersburg vs. Trencin or Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv, and Marseille vs. Oostende.

Teams must advance through two rounds to reach the group stage.
