Alberto Moreno says 'bye' to man bun, joins blond ranks with Messi and Neymar

The blond trend is spreading.

Liverpool left back Alberto Moreno has joined the club and bleached his hair blond, following the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar, who both made the switch this summer.

In Moreno’s case, however, it may actually be an upgrade from his previous hair situation. He chopped off the oft-mocked mini ponytail he used to rock — which teetered dangerously close to “man bun” territory — and replaced it with a short, albeit very blond, cut.

The reviews for Moreno’s new look got mixed reviews from Liverpool fans. Hair controversy is obviously nothing new to the 24-year-old though.

Everyone needs to switch things up now and then, and lately, that includes Moreno. He has seen just 13 minutes of action since the first game of the season where he conceded a penalty and was generally pretty bad.

His left back spot has been taken over by midfielder James Milner, but maybe his new hair will trick Jurgen Klopp into thinking he’s someone else so he can get another go on Friday when Liverpool face Chelsea.

Either way, the blonde brigade continues and fans can only wonder who will join the ranks next.
