Andrea Pirlo gets his own wine-inspired boot
How has this not happened already? Andrea Pirlo's love for wine is well known -- he grew up harvesting grapes as a child at his grandmother's winery, and he started the Pratum Coller winery in his hometown of Flero, Italy. Now he's got a sexy wine-inspired Nike exclusive to call his own.
The Tiempo Pirlo is meant to "celebrate Pirlo’s dual careers as a footballer and winemaker" according to Nike. Inspired by the color of merlot, the limited-run boots feature four gold stars as a nod to Pratum Coller's logo and Italy's four World Cup wins.
Just as classy as the man himself, Pirlo's boots feature a genuine cork sockliner, with an Aged Since ’94 inscription for the year he began his storied career at Brescia.
To top it all off, the boots are packaged similar to a bottle of wine, and they include a pair of performance insoles. You know, just in case you decide to do the unthinkable and play in them.
