Argentina's president tweets 'a hug for Leo' following Messi's suspension
Lionel Messi's suspension on Tuesday caught a lot of people by surprise. It also pretty much spelled the apocalypse for Argentina's hopes of making the World Cup in 2018. With their position in CONMEBOL qualifying already precarious, it looks like Argentina will be without their best player for an extended period, to boot.
In an effort to try and assuage dark feelings and try and keep things positive, Argentina president Mauricio Macri took to Twitter with a message for the country.

"Today we have to be more together than ever. A hug for Leo and the whole team. Let's go Argentina!" the message says. Messi's already out for Argentina's qualifier against Bolivia, and at the time of writing, La Albiceleste were down by a pair of goals in the second half.
Needless to say, it's looking dire.
If the remainder Messi's of four-game suspension is upheld, the Barcelona star will miss a total of four of Argentina's final five qualifying matches in CONMEBOL. That would pit Argentina against Uruguay, Venezuela and Peru without Messi.
Should Argentina fail to miss the World Cup in Russia, which is looking more and more likely, President Macri might need to offer more than just a hug for Messi.
