Argentinian manager brawls with own fans at a gas station
Sarmiento de Junin's coach Ricardo Caruso Lombardi let the pressure of his side's relegation battle get the better of him as he engaged in a fist fight with his own fans at a gas station.
It's early doors in the new season, but with eight played, the Argentinian top-flight side are bottom of the 15-team division.
His team have only won one game all season and after the latest 1-0 defeat to Rosario Central the 54-year-old was confronted by angry fans.
According to reports, the incident took place at a gas station where a group of supporters hurled abuse at the coaches and players on their way home.
Following the ugly scenes, the coach explained his side of the story.
"They began to provoke me, bad mouthing myself and the players. I could not let them go on that way. They complained about the defeat and asked why we were heading towards relegation," Caruso Lombardi told a local radio station.
"One began to say things to me. I looked at him and asked him what was wrong with him. He said that I was scared and that we (the team) were going to be relegated. Twice I asked him if he was being serious.
"This lasted five minutes. I had seen these people before in Junin, they came to the pitch. Maybe they are annoyed about the relegation and they came to get their own justice. I do not regret it."
Caruso Lombardi has had 21 managerial jobs in 22 years, we're wondering how long it will take before he'll be looking for another one...
