Villa forced to share the spoils after a late show by Gestede and McCormack

The boys started brightly, rattling the bar and sailing close to an opening goal. The game was split right down the middle approaching half time, with yellows and cautions flying around. McCormack’s effort deflected off the and out and Ayew’s inventive shot sailed just past the bar for a goal kick;Villa’s misfortune continued when Jordan’s low shot was hit wide and the ref blew for half time. The introduction of Bunn over Gollini was a concern for Villa fans, after last seeing him in action against in the disjointed performance against Luton.

The boys came out strong, but Forest found a reply instantly through an insane 25 yard that cruised past Bunn. The boys in Claret and Blue didn’t give up once down though, they battled possesion with Forest until at 71 minutes we found an equaliser through Ross McCormack who recieved a great lofted ball from Ayew and never looked like missing. Villa were in complete ectasy when not long after we had kicked were we celebrating another great goal when Ayew had again evaded his marker and lifted a great ball to Rudy who tee’d it up and smashed it straight into the net with a cool overhead kick.

Going into the final fifth of the game the boys were trying their best to hold out. With only one central midfielder onthe bench, and three strikers on the players had no hope but to go for the win and try and kill the game dead, after a wonderful solo run and effort by Lansbury, the reds had snatched a goal back to equalise and no sooner had the ref  blown for full time. Another extremely disappointing result but a much improved performance, the Villains will need to turn draws into wins and chances into goals if they wish to be promoted on their first attempt.
