Basketball legend O'Neal reveals love for Northampton Town
Northampton Town may not be the most glamorous club in the world, but they certainly have a global superstar as one of their biggest supporters.
NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal has sent a message of support to the team who are five points clear at the top of League Two - the fourth tier in English soccer - and revealed he hopes to see them in action in the future.
O'Neal, who won three consecutive championships with Los Angeles Lakers and one more with Miami Heat in 2006, co-owns internet radio station Shaq Fu with Northampton's owner Kelvin Thomas.
"I just wanted to wish Kelvin and all the Cobblers best of luck for the rest of the season. First place is where I like to be and it's great to see you guys at the top," he said in a YouTube video.
"I know what it takes to win championships so you've got to make sure you finish strong and do not give up that intensity. Looking forward to coming to Sixfields at some point to see a match. Guys, you know what you gotta do. Keep grinding guys, I know you're gonna be the champs. Love you guys."
