Boca Juniors scored an absurd 40-yard equalizer in the 95th minute
It's the 95th minute and your team is trailing 1-0. You've spent more than an hour and a half trying to score and have nothing to show for it. At that point, you're convinced nothing will work, and for obvious reasons.
So why not take a rip from 40 yards? That's exactly what Boca Juniors' Federico Carrizo was thinking.
HOT DAMN.
It took an act of desperation to even try a shot from there. It wasn't supposed to work. It wasn't going to work. I mean, how could it work?
It worked. It worked spectacularly. And Boca Juniors got themselves a draw that keeps them within a point of Bolivar for all-important second place in their Copa Libertadores group.
But that doesn't feel like enough. Seriously, watch that goal and try to say that it shouldn't be worth two goals. Because it should absolutely count double, deliver Boca all three points and have them in second place.
