Bordeaux suspends two players after dressing room altercation
BORDEAUX --
Bordeaux has indefinitely suspended goalkeeper Jerome Prior and center half Lamine Sane following an altercation after the 4-3 home loss to Nantes in the French Cup on Wednesday.
The club said in a brief statement on Thursday that the players were involved in ''serious incidents in the dressing room,'' with French sports daily L'Equipe reporting that they came to blows in a fierce fight before being separated by security officials.
Bordeaux's creaking defense has let in 16 goals in the last five games.
The 20-year-old Prior was left out of the squad for two games in November after a dispute with Bordeaux's coaching staff, and verbally clashed with fans at the airport the previous month returning from an away game.
Sane was stripped of the captaincy in January.
