Borussia Dortmund send off Henrikh Mkhitaryan with spiteful Facebook message

Borussia Dortmund lost their third key player of the summer transfer window with Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealing a move to Manchester United this weekend, and the club doesn't seem to be taking all the departures too well.

At the end of their Facebook post announcing the move, Dortmund couldn't help but mention that their former playmaker, who tallied 23 goals and 32 assists in 52 games last season, would be playing his club football in the Europa League next season with United, not in the Champions League had he stayed.

If that's not enough sour grapes, the message comes just a month after sending Ilkay Gundogan off to Manchester City with a similar swipe on Facebook, where Dortmund announced that the player would "leave the eight-time German champions in the summer to join Manchester City, who finished fourth in the English Premier League last season."

Zing!

The significant losses of both Gundogan and Mkhitaryan as well as captain Mats Hummels to league rivals Bayern Munich no doubt left a mark with the Black and Yellows. Aside from forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Reus, they were the club's most important players for the past couple years. But at least Dortmund can console themselves with this: those three players, all of whom had just one year remaining on their contracts, earned the club a combined transfer fee of an estimated $122 million.
