Brazil have a new mascot and he looks like an evil Tweety Bird

Brazil have been nicknamed the Canarinhos for decades. It's a pretty obvious moniker -- they wear yellow, like canaries, so they're nicknamed the little canaries.

But despite the nickname, Brazil have never had a mascot. That is until now.

That's the real new mascot for the national team. It's not a joke or a fan-made gag. It's official, with the federation's seal of approval and everything.

The new mascot follows a pretty common method in mascot creation: take a basic animal and try to make them look fierce. But that doesn't really work here because it's a canary and canaries aren't fierce. He just looks like a pissed off Tweety Bird.

And why go angry or fierce with this anyway? You're Brazil. Your team is the team for fun and cool. People think of Pele's goals, Ronaldinho's smile and Ronaldo's goofy hair. There's nothing serious in that. Just a bunch of tricks that amaze and end opponents' dreams. And you went with an evil Tweety Bird?
