Bundesliga strugglers Stuttgart sack coach Alexander Zorniger
Stuttgart have dismissed their head coach Alexander Zorniger and replaced him with reserve-team coach Jurgen Kramny until further notice.
Zorniger pays the price for a poor start to the season which has seen the Swabians win just three of their first 13 games, losing nine.
However, it was more the manner of their 4-0 defeat at home to Augsburg last weekend which has convinced the club to make a premature change.
"It was above all the way in which we lost last Saturday which really concerned us," said Stuttgart president Bernd Wahler on the Bundesliga club's website.
"We analyzed the impact this had on the team as well as the coaching team and evaluated this, and we reached this decision this morning."
Zorniger's assistants Andre Trulsen, Armin Reutershahn and Andreas Menger have also been relieved of their duties with Kramny placed in charge, at least up until Sunday's clash with Borussia Dortmund.
It is the third season in a row that Stuttgart have dismissed their coach.
Thomas Schneider and Armin Veh were both replaced by Huub Stevens, who saved them from relegation each time.
Stevens only recently took charge at fellow strugglers Hoffenheim and is therefore unavailable to help out for a third year in a row. Zorniger was appointed in the summer after spending three years at RB Leipzig in the 2. Bundesliga.
