Christian Benteke announces his transfer to the wrong club
Christian Benteke's move to leave Liverpool in a record deal has started off with big whiff. The Belgian striker did what most players do after switching teams, he updated his Twitter to remove his old club and add his new one.
There's one big mistake there (aside from the total butchering of "Burnley FC") ... Crystal Palace are the club that shelled out the reported £27 million for Benteke. The striker was quick to remedy the situation and delete the error, but this is the internet. Everything is permanent.
Benteke apologized for the flub and then did the noble thing. He went ahead and threw his social media team under the bus.
At least he didn't claim that his Twitter got hacked.
While most will be looking forward to Benteke's first match against Liverpool on Oct. 29, the meeting the following week against Burnley could also provide some entertainment. Hopefully Benteke will know which dressing room to go to.
