City offers to make Zlatan Ibrahimovic king if he signs with their team

Since his time at PSG came to an end, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s next destination has been a topic of hot discussion. Will he join Jose Mourinho on Man United? Could he fly overseas and link up with MLS? Ibrahimovic has even admitted he’s enjoying the rumor mill.

With no definitive answer as to where he’s going, a number of clubs are making their pitches to the Swedish superstar. Among them are semi-pro minnows Rot-Weiss Oberhausen in Germany, who have made a regal offer.

Should Ibra join Rot-Weiss Oberhausen, the city of Oberhausen have offered to implement a monarchy and name Ibrahimovic their king.  But they’re not done there. For King Ibrahimovic, Rot-Weiss Oberhausen would pull out all the stops.

The stadium would change up the food on match day to serve Swedish sausage, and their beer, KönigPilsener, would be renamed Zlatan Pilsener. (König means king in German, so it makes perfect sense.)

Considering Ibrahimovic fancies himself a deity, this isn’t the worst approach. Of course, being king isn’t quite as cool when you’re not also being paid like a king … so Ibrahimovic will probably look elsewhere. But with an offer like that, at least Rot-Weiss Oberhausen and the town can rest easy knowing they gave it their best shot.
