City: We must win everything
Whoever is appointed as the new manager at Manchester City has been told that he will be expected to challenge on multiple fronts.
Blues chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak, who hopes to have the coaching void at the Etihad Stadium filled inside the next two weeks, claims the club must challenge for every trophy available to them.
A failure to land any silverware in 2012/13 cost Roberto Mancini his job, a year after guiding City to the Premier League title.
City are not prepared to accept similar failure next term, with expectations having risen considerably on the back of sizeable investment on and off the field.
Further additions are expected to be made this summer, and Al-Mubarak hopes they will help City return to winning ways.
He told the club's official website: "The target now is to win every competition that we play in.
"It is a high ambition, but we have the organisation and the squad to get us there. We have won the Premier League before, we know what it takes to win it and we will win it again. We have won the FA Cup before and we can do that again.
"In Europe, we have not been as successful in the Champions League and there is no doubt we have a lot of improvement to make there.
"But with the squad, the organisation, the manager coming in and the new players we will sign, we will have a strong team to compete in the Champions League."
Mixed feelings
On a change in the dugout, with Manuel Pellegrini expected to be named as Mancini's successor, Al-Mubarak added: "We all felt it was time for a change.
"I have mixed feelings about last season. There were ups and downs, to say the least."
