Clint Dempsey takes shot at Timbers during Sounders' MLS Cup rally
Clint Dempsey might not be in game shape after spending time away from the field to tend to an irregular heartbeat diagnosis, but his trash-talking game remains on point.
During the Seattle Sounders' MLS Cup rally and parade on Tuesday, Dempsey took the microphone and offered a jab at the outgoing champion, the rival Portland Timbers.
"All I gotta say is, now that we won one, Portland can't say sh********t," Dempsey exclaimed to a pleased crowd of supporters.
The rally was the culmination of a championship celebration, during which the Sounders made their way through the city via multiple trolleys while fans packed the streets to catch a glimpse of their team, which outlasted Toronto FC in penalty kicks following a 0-0 draw to win MLS Cup. The ones at the end certainly got more than they were expecting when Deuce stepped to the mic (warning: the vulgar language is clear):

Dempsey's comments will surely add fuel to the already sizzling rivalry between the longtime Pacific Northwest foes for the coming year. Whether Dempsey is still a part of it remains to be seen. U.S. national team manager Bruce Arena indicated on FOX's MLS Cup broadcast that he was hopeful of calling Dempsey into January camp to ease him back into action ahead of Sounders preseason. That would suggest that Dempsey is on the comeback trail from his scary medical condition.
