Copa América Centenario picks up high profile sponsors
Coca-Cola, Sprint and State Farm have signed on as official partners of this summer's Copa América Centenario.
The companies join Nike as the first four official partners of the tournament. Sponsors will all receive extensive signage at matches, and the rights to use Copa América imagery in their marketing.
The commercial rights for the Centenario are being handled by Soccer United Marketing (SUM), the marketing arm of Major League Soccer (MLS). No financial terms for any of the deals agreed so far have been announced.
The 100-year anniversary edition of the tournament is being played in the United States for the first time, a factor which has helped in attracting major sponsors. Adding to the competition's commercial appeal is the fact that it will feature the likes of Barcelona's famous front three - Brazil's Neymar, Argentina's Lionel Messi and Uruguay's Luis Suárez - facing off against one another.
