CARY, N.C. (AP) — Charlyn Corral scored a pair of goals and Mexico beat Trinidad and Tobago 4-1 on Sunday in the group stage of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying tournament.

Mexico needed the win to stay alive in Group A with one more match to go in the stage. Earlier on Sunday, Carli Lloyd scored three goals to lead the United States to a 5-0 victory over Panama at Sahlen's Stadium.

Corral's goal came in the 33rd minute when Trinidad goalkeeper Kimika Forbes popped away a shot right into Corral's path for the easy tap in. Jonelle Cato tied the game with a penalty kick in the 50th minute.

Katie Johnson's header pulled Mexico back in front in the 55th minute. Corral scored her second some seven minutes later and Maria Sanchez added a header in the 71st.
