Cristiano Ronaldo one-ups Lionel Messi with four-goal outburst
Lionel Messi scored a hat trick for Barcelona on Thursday, so naturally, Cristiano Ronaldo scored four on Saturday. In one half.
After the Ballon d'Or winner's three goals in a 5-1 win over Rayo Vallecano, his Real Madrid nemesis upped the ante in a 7-1 undressing of Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu.
And man, were some of these goals pretty.
Real were already up 1-0 early in the second half when CR7 unleashed this beauty from very, very long range:

No Ronaldo four-goal bonanza would be complete without a free-kick special, of course:

Ronaldo sealed his hat trick in just 14 minutes with a simple tap-in to remind us all that he can also score the unspectacular ones:

And after he got bored scoring with his right foot, Ronaldo added a header in the 76th minute for Goal No. 4:

The La Liga race may be officially over for Real Madrid, who still lie 9 points adrift of Barca, but it sure is fun to keep watching Ronaldo and Messi try to one-up each other.
