Cristiano Ronaldo signs new deal with Nike 'for life'
Cristiano Ronaldo just signed a bumper contract with Real Madrid that'll keep him at the Spanish giants until 2021. Now, longtime sponsor Nike is getting in on the act, tying the Portuguese superstar to a long-term contract.
Nike issued a press release announcing the new deal, saying: "The successful partnership between Nike and Ronaldo will continue well into the future with a new, long-term contract."
Ronaldo himself released a video with the news, waxing poetic about the brand, and saying his new deal is "for life."
Says Ronaldo, "I'm a member of the family but I have to say that Nike's is the best, for me and my opinion."
The details of CR7's new Nike contract are unconfirmed, but it's thought to be along the lines of LeBron James' deal, which is reportedly worth over $1 billion.
Not too bad. Not too bad at all.
