Dani Alves targets Champions League glory with Juventus
Dani Alves has set his sights on winning the Champions League with Juventus after joining the Italian title winners from Barcelona.
The 33-year-old right-back conquered Europe three times during a trophy-laden eight years at the Nou Camp.
He had 12 months left on his Barcelona contract but asked to leave earlier this month.
Now, having moved to the Juventus Stadium on a two-year-contract, the Brazil international wants to add more silverware to his collection.
At a press conference streamed live on the club website, Alves said: "The club's dream is to win the Champions League and I hope to help them achieve this.
"I can't say exactly what Juventus require to win the Champions League. That's something I'll begin to work out from now onwards.
"We need to believe we can win the Champions League if we are to do so. My team-mates and I will give it our best shot."
As well as the Champions League successes while at Barcelona, Alves also won La Liga six times, the Copa del Rey four times, four Spanish Super Cups, and both the European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup on three occasions.
Alves also explained the challenge of playing in Italy had motivated him to leave Spain, where he also played for Sevilla.
He added: "It's an honour to be here. Juve have a great dream and I want to make it a reality. The club's history fascinates me. I also wanted a new experience, in a new country.
"Juventus is a club full of interesting challenges and goals. There's a unique opportunity to go down in history here.
"I'm not someone who looks for an easy ride. I'm not a star, I'm a real grafter."
Alves, who has won one Copa America and two Confederations Cups with Brazil, revealed he had chosen to wear shirt number 23 in honour of Cleveland Cavaliers basketball player LeBron James.
He said: "My number? I will wear 23 in honour of @KingJames."
