French defender Matthieu Delpierre will leave Stuttgart at the end of the season to join Bundesliga rival Hoffenheim on a two-year contract.
Both clubs confirmed the free transfer on Wednesday. Delpierre's contract at Stuttgart ends after this season.
Delpierre will reunite with coach Markus Babbel, who was in charge of Stuttgart in 2009 and made the player his captain.
The Frenchman has not played this season because of a hamstring injury. He has been at Stuttgart since 2004.
