Dirk Nowitzki did a perfect Simone Zaza 'running man' impression

Euro 2016 had some incredible moments. Some were epic, and some were epicly bad, like Italian Simone Zaza's ill-fated penalty run up and miss against Germany in the quarterfinal.

Zaza was immediately immortalized on the internet as a meme, and of course, Dallas Mavericks legend, Germany native and notorious jokester Dirk Nowitzki had to get in on the act, too.

Nowitzki holds an annual "Champions for Charity" soccer match back home, involving professional soccer players, past and present, as well athletes from other sports and celebrities.

Dirk's team won a penalty in the 69th minute, and he broke out this gem:

It's perfect.

Speaking to Sport1 after the match, Dirk quotables were even better than the penalty itself: "I wanted to hit [the penalty] the Italian way and was able to finish with the same result."

Sensational.

It wasn't all just jokes though. This year's charity match was held in honor of German racing great Michael Schumacher, who captained one of the sides for years before he nearly lost his life in a skiing accident three years ago. (Today, Schumacher is still struggling to recover from the various injuries he suffered).

Schumacher's son Mick, now himself a racer, played in the match this year, and Nowitzki told Sport1 before the action: "I hope we can send Michael some positive energy. We want to show him that the people haven't forgotten him and that he is still an idol."

Keep doing you, Dirk. We love it.
