Dynamo Dresden sell stadium naming rights

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 10:37 p.m. ET

German third-tier side Dynamo Dresden have sold the naming rights to their home ground to DDV Media Group.

The deal, effective immediately, will run until 30th June 2020 and, according to Sponsors.de, is worth around €350,000 per year.

As well as naming rights the agreement, negotiated by Lagardère Sports, also includes in-stadium advertising on pitchside boards and other promotional rights.

Dynamo’s Stadion Dresden will now be called the DDV Stadion, with new signage reflecting the new name set to be erected on the venue’s façade in the coming weeks.

The 32,000-seater stadium’s previous naming rights holder, the Bavarian energy company Goldgas, terminated its deal a year early in the summer of 2014.

A long-time partner of Dynamo Dresden, DDV Media Group publishes the Sächsische Zeitung and Morgenpost Sachsen newspapers and runs the online portals sz-online and MOPO24.

Dynamo Dresden are currently top of Germany’s 3.Liga after 26 games.
