Ecuador striker Enner Valencia fakes injury to avoid police
Everton striker and Ecuador striker Enner Valencia faked an injury during a World Cup qualifier match between Ecuador and Chile after learning authorities were on hand to arrest him after a failure to pay child support.
Valencia reportedly owes $17,000 in unpaid child support,
According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, a lawyer and police officers tried to arrest Valencia after a morning training session, but were unable to do so.
Police then stopped the team's bus on the way to the match. Valencia was not taken into custody.

Valencia started the match for Ecuador and left the game in the 82nd minute with an apparent injury. Valencia was then taken to an ambulance by golf cart with police in pursuit.
The warrant for Valencia's arrest revoked after the match and he will not be arrested, according to reports.
Ecuador won the match, 3-0, and Valencia has rejoined the national team.
