SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador -- El Salvador's supreme court has approved the extradition of Reynaldo Vasquez, the former head of the Salvadoran football federation who is wanted by American authorities on corruption charges in the growing FIFA scandal.

Vasquez's whereabouts are unknown, and the court said it has ordered his arrest.

Last week Vasquez talked to a local television channel and said he was in El Salvador.

The U.S. Department of Justice has accused Vasquez of receiving bribes from the marketing company Media World in exchange for broadcast rights to matches of Salvador's national team.
