Everton agree Avon Tyres partnership

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 1:39 p.m. ET

Premier League club Everton have agreed a sponsorship deal with Avon Tyres.

The Wiltshire, England-based company, a subsidiary of Cooper Tire Europe, will become the official tyre partner of the Toffees for the rest of the current season and the entirety of 2016/17. Avon Tyres branding will appear throughout Goodison Park on matchdays. No financial terms were released.

"The new commercial team here at Everton are delighted to welcome Avon Tyres on board to the club’s partner portfolio," said Alan McTavish, the head of commercial partnerships at Everton.

“Avon Tyres is an established, premium brand with a rich history in the motor industry and we look forward to working with them to achieve the brand’s business objectives.”

Avon Tyres European marketing communications manager Sarah McRoberts added: "Football is by far and away the most popular sport in the UK and the Everton partnership provides the perfect platform for us to reach a large number of potential new customers. This is the first time Avon Tyres has partnered with a Premier League club and we’re excited to see how the relationship will increase our presence in the UK football market in the future.”

Everton were the subject of major investment last week when Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri, formerly an Arsenal shareholder, bought a 49.9 per cent stake in the Merseyside club for a reported UK£87.5 million (US$121 million).

The team are currently an underwhelming 12th in the Premier League table, and travel to bottom club Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
