Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez wants to leave out in form players for the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Magpies last played on Tuesday against Queens Park Rangers, where they beat the Loftus Road locals 6-0.
Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez both started the fixture and scored – but could they be left out of the side on Saturday?
“They (the players) have to feel they will have a chance and all of them will get their opportunity to show what they can do,” Benitez told the Chronicle.
“We are changing players and we are still winning. That can only be good for us,” the Spaniard concluded.
Newcastle United have been linked with 23-year-old Serie A playmaker Ravel Morrison.
The Sun reported that the Magpies are interested in bringing the former Manchester United trainee to the Championship.
Morrison’s career has been nothing sort of shambolic, especially for a player with the talent that he has.
To date he has played for six clubs and the most appearances for any of them as been 30 – which he mustered while on loan to Birmingham City.
Former Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has given another interview.
Using the press to let Toon fans know just how keen he was to secure a move away from St. James’ Park was his favourite tactic – but this time it’s a little different.
The Telegraph reported that the Frenchman was talking about the move and his new club, Tottenham Hotspur.
“I said in the past that I wanted to move to join a big team, I am very happy and very proud to be here.
“I had some great years with Newcastle but now Newcastle is the past. I am 100% focused with Tottenham,” Sissoko concluded.
Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has warned his new players that they’ll have to wait for their debut.
The Magpies signed Daryl Murphy and Achraf Lazaar at the end of the summer transfer window, but they are yet to feature.
Speaking before the fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, the Chronicle reported that Benitez said: “I don’t think Daryl or Lazaar (will play).
“We have 18 players and we have the game on Tuesday, so maybe they will play Tuesday. We have 18 to pick, and I have to leave a lot of players in the stands. It is really difficult”
Former Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat has said that he doesn’t feel bad about the Magpies’ relegation.
Janmaat was one of the better players from that disastrous season, but jumped ship when Watford came calling.
“I never felt bad about Newcastle,” the Telegraph reported that he said. “They gave me the chance to play in the Premier League and are a great club.
“It’s not normal to see a club like Newcastle not in the Premier League.”
Janmaat also spoke about his new club and called them smaller than United. “It’s a bit smaller than Newcastle but everything is very professional,” he added.
