France coach Deschamps to sue Cantona over racism allegations

France coach Didier Deschamps is suing Manchester United great Eric Cantona over allegations of racism.
Cantona said he believed Deschamps omitted Hatem Ben Arfa and Karim Benzema from his Euro 2016 squad because of their ethnicity.
Benzema and Ben Arfa had fine seasons for Real Madrid and Nice respectively, but did not make the cut for the tournament.

Deschamps has now instructed his lawyer to take legal action against Cantona.
Lawyer Carlos Brusa told L'Equipe: "I will initiate action before the civil and criminal courts to punish these slanderous and defamatory comments that infringe impermissibly on Mr Deschamps' integrity."
Both Benzema and Ben Arfa are of north African descent.
