France have suffered another injury blow ahead of Euro 2016 with Jeremy Mathieu ruled out with a calf injury.

The Barcelona player is the latest French defender who is unavailable for the tournament after Raphael Varane picked up a thigh injury.

Mathieu, who has five caps for his country, is being replaced in the squad by Samuel Umtiti of Olympique Lyon. He picked up the injury in Barcelona's win over Sevilla in the Kings Cup last weekend.

Chelsea's Kurt Zouma is another defensive option who is unavailable due to a long-term injury.

Valencia full-back Adil Rami was called up in place of Real Madrid star Varane.

The French squad, which will be cut from 31 to 23 players by Sunday, take on Cameroon in a friendly in Nantes on Monday.

Didier Deschamps' side start their Euro 2016 campaign against Romania on June 10, before facing Albania and Switzerland in Group A.
