Turkish giants Galatasaray have confirmed they are keen to sign unsettled Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski this summer.

Gala attempted to sign the left-footed German international on loan in January but lost out to Inter Milan, where he finished last season with one goal in 17 appearances.

The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer and Galatasaray sporting director Cüneyt Tanman confirmed the Istanbul-based club are trying to sign him.

"We are interested in Podolski." he told the Evening Standard.

Podolski, who has been with the north London club for three years, has been linked with numerous clubs this summer, but yesterday revealed he was relishing a return to The Emirates after admitting his temporary switch to Inter was a mistake.

"I've always felt comfortable there," Podolski told Bild. "With the fans, with the team and also with the manager.

"I'm going back to play, I have to say my qualities suit Arsenal.

"Inter? Last season went how it went. English football is the one which best suits my style, but I know how suddenly everything can change."
