Gerard Pique reveals he once set Patrice Evra's shoes on fire in super mean prank
Gerard Pique has long been known as a prankster. He's trolled his rival, Cristiano Ronaldo. He's thrown sunflower seeds at his team's dugout from the stands. He's done a lot, but most of it is seemingly benign. Well, it turns out he can take it a little bit too far, too.
Sitting down for an interview with Catalan television, Pique was asked what he misses most about Manchester United, where he played from 2004-08. His response was ... interesting. He said he misses British humor the most.
"They don't get offended when you play tricks on them. They try to get you back, but they don't complain," he said via SBS. He then wistfully detailed a prank he and his teammates played on an unsuspecting Patrice Evra:
"One day Patrice Evra came in with shoes that he'd been asking Nike for months to make. They had the name of his children on them and all these crazy details. He went into the shower and we created a small bonfire and burned them. We recorded it and then sent him the video."
Whoa. He burned this man's shoes while he was in the shower, shoes that had his childrens' names on them, and then SENT HIM FOOTAGE OF THE CRIME. That seems way over the line. The line is a dot to Pique.
He admitted that he tried to pull the same sort of stunts after moving to Barcelona, "but it didn't work." Ya think?
