BERLIN --

Germany's friendly game against the Netherlands will go ahead as scheduled in Hannover on Tuesday despite security concerns following the Paris attacks.

The German team, which played France in a friendly in Paris on Friday, is set to gather on Monday.

''The message is clear: We will not be intimidated by terror'' German football federation caretaker president Reinhard Rauball said on Sunday. ''It's a necessary symbol for the team to run out against the Netherlands as planned just a few days after the bad experiences at the game in Paris. Coach Joachim Loew and each individual player deserve respect for this demonstration of solidarity with the victims and the entire French people.''

Players were given time off after spending Friday night at the Stade de France because of the terror attacks nearby. They travelled to Charles de Gaulle airport and were flown back to Frankfurt aboard a specially chartered flight on Saturday morning.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel planned to attend Tuesday's game along with several of her cabinet ministers.
