Golden State Warriors draw inspiration from Leo Messi, Barcelona
Having won 68 of their 75 games in the current NBA season and 24 out of 30 in La Liga - tied for the most wins across the top five leagues in Europe - the Golden State Warriors and Barcelona are undoubtedly the two best teams in their respective sports.
In Stephen Curry and Lionel Messi, you arguably have the two of the greatest players in the prime of their careers, whose mutual admiration is no secret.
So, it comes to little surprise when Curry, who might as well be dubbed the Messi of basketball (yes, we're preparing to "go there") revealed the Warriors' secret to success in a recent interview: Watching highlights of Messi and the Blaugrana in action.
The reigning NBA MVP divulged that coach Steve Kerr has shown his squad the dazzling highlights of Barcelona's enterprising attack.
"Coach Kerr has shown us film of some soccer greats, especially Messi and Barcelona, and how they play," Curry said (via Goal). "Just their style and what they do every single game, and how they score. We drew a lot of similarities with how we play - moving the ball and using each other in several plays...I'm sure that all comes out in the games."
Keep doing your thing, Golden State, and you'll start filling your trophy cabinet too.
