Greece's Maniatis scores vs. Australia from inside his own half

With Copa America in full tilt and Euro 2016 just days away, it's understandable if you missed Tuesday's friendly between Australia and Greece in Sydney. But thanks to the glory of the internet, this amazing highlight from Greece's Ioannis Maniatis won't be ignored.

Deep in his own half, Maniatis saw keeper Adam Federici off his line and uncorked an absolute rocket. Federici sprinted back to cover his line, but to no avail, as Maniatis picked up his first international goal in unforgettable fashion.

Damn, that's a hell of a boot. Federici was definitely out in no man's land, but Maniatis had to flawlessly drill that puppy to complete the effort. The Socceroos wound up losing the tilt, 2-1, but they had to acknowledge the highlight-reel golazo.

"That was ridiculous. I've never seen anything like that ... apart from David Beckham years ago," 19-year-old Alex Gersbach said via the team's official site.

Ridiculous is certainly one way to characterize it. What a belter.
