Harry Kane is looking as good as ever, and Spurs are ready to soar with him
Harry Kane spent last Sunday scoring a hat trick, but that was the FA Cup against a Championship side in Fulham. The Premier League and Stoke City would certainly make things more difficult. And yet there was Kane, scoring another hat trick to make it six goals in the last two Sundays.
With three more goals, Kane is now joint top of the Premier League goalscoring chart, a not insignificant feat for a player who missed nearly two months with an ankle injury in the fall. But it is what we have come to expect from Kane, a man who tied the Tottenham Hotspur record for goals in a Premier League season in his debut campaign then led the entire league in goals last year.
What's remarkable about Kane is his ability to get shots away and always hit them so cleanly.
The former was on display when he got on the scoresheet, turning a loose ball into the back of the net without any delay.

And the latter was made blatantly clear with his second, a terrific strike on the bounce from his left foot that was exceptionally hard and he made look easy as can be.

Kane could have had even more, but if not for Lee Grant and a couple shots that came so close they may as well have kissed the post. But, just for good measure, Kane did toss in an assist when he made an absurd touch to dispose of Bruno Martins-Indi, before crossing for Dele Alli to finish with ease.
If we're talking about complete and generally dominant matches, Kane's performance against Stoke matches anything we've seen in the Premier League this season.
The timing couldn't be any better for Tottenham either. They're out of the Europa League and only a top four finish can get them into next season's Champions League. Their attack has sputtered a bit of late in the Premier League and, while they once looked like the second-best team in England, they had found themselves on the verge of slipping to fifth or even sixth. But that's the case no more.
Spurs are back into second place and Kane on top of the scoring chart. Things are looking up again, and Kane is the biggest reason why. If he can stay red hot -- and he's been pretty remarkable whenever fit this season -- Tottenham have to feel good about their top four chances.
