Ibrahimovic leads PSG to smashing win over sorry Toulouse

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's fine form continued with a brace in Paris Saint-Germain's 5-0 thrashing of Toulouse at the Parc de Princes.

The Sweden international made it nine for the season with goals in either half to heap further misery on Toulouse, who have won just once this campaign. Angel Di Maria opened the scoring in the sixth minute when his free-kick beat everybody to sneak in at the far post from 30 yards, his second goal in as many league games.

The former Manchester United man was also influential in the second goal, racing clear down the right before turning back and sending in a deep cross towards Ibrahimovic. The striker headed back across goal but Toulouse defender Marcel Tisserand inadvertently headed back to Ibrahimovic, who nodded the ball into an empty goal to double the lead after 18 minutes.

Lucas Moura made it 3-0 just after the hour as PSG bounced back in style from their 1-0 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid in midweek - their first loss of the season in any competition. Gregory van der Wiel was freed up on the right flank to swing a pinpoint cross in to the back post, and the diminutive Lucas rose higher than everybody else to head PSG further in front.

It became four when Di Maria's long-range effort was parried into the path of Ibrahimovic by Toulouse goalkeeper Ali Ahamada, and the 34-year-old Swede's miscued effort looped over the keeper and into the net.

Ezequiel Lavezzi came off the bench to wrap up the rout with 13 minutes of normal time to go, racing through before emphatically finishing beyond Ahamada to send Laurent Blanc's side 13 points clear of nearest challengers Lyon and St Etienne, who face each other on Sunday.

Lorient 4, Troyes 1

Benjamin Moukandjo scored twice as Lorient continued to exceed expectations in Ligue 1 with a 4-1 win over Troyes.

Les Merlus lie sixth in the table after their fifth win of the season, kick-started by Benjamin Jeannot's 33rd-minute goal which gave them a 1-0 interval lead.

Strike partner Moukandjo made it two and though Benjamin Nivet pulled one back from the penalty spot, Didier Ndong restored the two-goal margin and Moukandjo's late penalty set the seal on victory.

Troyes have struggled to adapt to the top flight since promotion and remain winless after 13 games, with only four points to show for their efforts.

Montpellier 2, Nantes 1

Vitorino Hilton's 90th-minute strike earned Montpellier a third straight home victory in Ligue 1 as they beat Nantes 2-1.

After picking up just one point from their first seven fixtures, Montpellier continued their recent resurgence when Hilton stabbed home after a free-kick dropped into his path.

Jerome Roussillon opened the scoring for the hosts, as he did seven days ago at Toulouse, but Yacine Bammou equalised 19 minutes into the second half when he swept in a first-time finish from Jules Iloki's sweep across.

However, Hilton pounced at the death to score his first goal since April and earn Montpellier another home success.

Caen 2, Guingamp 1

Caen moved up to second in Ligue 1 after winning 2-1 against Guingamp at the Stade Michel d'Ornano.

Julien Feret grabbed his third goal of the season after 62 minutes with a wonderful curling shot from 20 yards out, leaving Guingamp goalkeeper Jonas Lossl no chance.

Caen added a second when forward Andy Delfort wriggled his way through a sea of Guingamp players before slotting past Lossl. Dorian Leveque pulled one back for the visitors five minutes from time, but Caen held on for their first win in four games.
