Inter keeps Champions League hopes alive, beats Frosinone
MILAN (AP) Inter Milan kept its slender hopes of securing a Champions League spot alive as it struggled to a 1-0 win at 10-man Frosinone in Serie A on Saturday.
Mauro Icardi's 74th-minute header into the top far corner from Ivan Perisic's cross was enough to give Inter all three points. It was the Inter captain's 50th goal in 100 league matches for the club.
Frosinone had the better chances and hit the woodwork three times.
Defender Leonardo Blanchard was sent off for a second yellow card 10 minutes from time.
Inter moved provisionally fourth, two points above Fiorentina and five points behind third-place Roma which currently occupies the final Champions League qualifying spot. Roma hosts Bologna Monday.
Frosinone remained one point from safety.
League leader Juventus visits AC Milan later.
