Italian soccer referee absorbs ferocious cheap-shot kick from player

An amateur Italian soccer match descended into dramatics for one player as he savagely kicked a referee in the back of his leg.

The crazy video was taken in a ninth-tier game between Castel San Niccolo and Fortis Arezzo, held in Tuscany.

During the muddy affair, Castel San Niccolo's No. 11 player was shown a red card.

As the referee turned his back on the recipient, the player landed a powerful kick to back of the official's leg.

Amazingly, the ref knew just how to react and took the blow in his stride.

The angry player was restrained with a little help from some of his teammates.
