Have you forgotten about Jack Wilshere? It's okay, you're not alone.

Once tabbed as the next big thing coming out of Arsenal, Wilshere has spent more time on the shelf than that can of spam in your food pantry, racking up 21 injuries in just the past six years, as tracked by Goal.com. He hasn't played for Arsene Wenger's side since breaking his fibula in preseason, and as a result he's become an afterthought for the English national team as well.

But on Monday, Wilshere finally showed another flash of his potential for the Gunners' U-21 side. Wilshere exhibited a brilliant first touch to bring the ball down in the box and fired home the team's only goal in a 2-1 loss to West Brom. It was his first goal since bagging a brace for England in a 3-2 win over Slovenia last June.

Of course, it wouldn't have been a complete Wilshere game without a proper injury scare, and in the first half the 24-year-old did go down in a heap, clutching his knee. Gunners fans promptly feared the worst on social media, but Wilshere was able to continue and score that peach of a goal.

Wilshere is targeting a return to the senior side as soon as this week, and though we're not counting our chickens just yet, there's no denying he's still got the touch when healthy.
