Jamie Vardy's casual backheel goal vs. Germany is simply mouthwatering

Saturday was a fine day for England. Not only did the Three Lions rally for a classic 3-2 comeback victory against rival Germany, they completed the tall task without the services of their usual starting forward, Wayne Rooney.

With their skipper out injured, the responsibilities up top for England fell to the duo of Harry Kane, who got the starting nod, and Jamie Vardy, who began the match on the bench.

The Englishmen deputized quite admirably. Kane continued his torrid form with a sensational, Cruyff-esque goal to get England on the board and cut their 2-0 deficit against Die Mannschaft in half.

With the tide turned and England smelling an equalizer, manager Roy Hodgson called upon his ace in the hole and inserted Vardy into proceedings in the 72nd minute. It took but two minutes for the Leicester City dynamo to pull off this bit of magic:

Just a casual backheel flick. Against Manuel Neuer. To tie a match against your country’s biggest rival. Not a bad way to notch your first international goal.

Eric Dier's stoppage-time winner put a cherry on top of the day's reversal of fortune. Yep, things are definitely looking up for England heading into the Euros this summer.
