Jose Mourinho had Manchester United train in a parking lot

Manchester United are filthy rich. Just this month, they became the first UK club to earn more than £500 million in one year.

But manager Jose Mourinho apparently thought his players were getting a little too comfortable. Ahead of Wednesday’s EFL Cup match at Northampton Town, the coach ran his players through their paces at an asphalt parking lot.

Someone spotted the unusual training session and shared it with the world on Snapchat:

The sighting reportedly happened at the Daventry Court Hotel, which at the time of the Man United training session had a 3.5-star rating on Trip Advisor from online reviewers. A double room at the hotel reportedly goes from around £100 per night.

The digs were far cry from the luxurious AON Training Complex at Carrington in Manchester, but sometimes you just need to get a work out in wherever you can. Maybe it's another money-saving measure for the ultra wealthy club, like alleged reports that players had been asked to stop giving away their jerseys for free.
